MANISH PUSHKALE

Manish Pushkale [1973] His works have progressively developed into abstractions through an essentialising and reductive process in his paintings. With interest in music, there is an inherent rhythm that undergirds his works. Reinforcing this dimension is the repetition of certain forms that is akin to the chanting or repetition of the mantra, which he has achieved brilliantly through his technique. Working through transparent layers of paint applications, Manish creates a sense of depth, as well subtexts visually taking the viewer into auratically signifying layers of sound
that mellifluously vibrate as colours, meticulously built up to convey this synergy. Interestingly, the contemplative rhythmic chant that is meditatively soothing, for Manish finds a parallel in his artistic process recoverable in fragments to the viewer through the experience of repeated seeing.
